The Northshore School District is currently considering dropping the boys and girls swim and dive team programs from the budget. This would mean that in the next school year, 2010-2011, there would not be a high-school swim and dive program in the district area.

We NEED to express our support to the administration that we want our swim and dive teams to continue to be funded. The administrators over this area need to hear from parents, swimmers, divers, former swimmers and divers and community members. We need to let them know how valuable these programs are.

If you are a two-parent household, send two e-mails to the www.nsd.org site. The more e-mails they receive, the better chance we have of getting our point across. And please encourage the swimmers and divers to write their own e-mails about their experience on these teams. The voice of the students is very powerful!

You do not need to be a swimmer or diver or swim/dive parent to support these programs. We need support from the entire school community to ensure our students have the opportunity to experience a high-school sport.
