Voting is important, but it’s obviously not enough | Letter

Dear fellow Democrats (and any others that believe in Medicare, reproductive rights, climate change…)

Well, nap time is over.

We have been casually riding on the coat tails of a President that has lead this country with integrity and progress. Our free ride is over.

Let’s wipe our tears and get to work. Voting is important, but it’s obviously not enough. Time to get involved!

I just hosted a living room full of citizens ready to roll up their sleeves and get to work on climate change via CCL (Citizens Climate Lobby). One action item: writing to and meeting with our legislators.

Whatever your cause is, start to defend it.

It’s not going to happen magically and stop assuming that someone else will do it. You have to help create the political will for a livable world.

This is democracy. Let’s wake up and be part of it.
