Inglemoor pins Bothell, wins Liberty Tournament/ Wrestling Roundup

Deep and talented Inglemoor High had no trouble beating crosstown rival Bothell High, 52-9, Thursday night in a 4A Kingco wrestling matchup.
Highlights for Bothell, hampered by injuries and illness, included state returner Chris Ungerecht (119) pinning Shane Merrill in 3 minutes, 34 seconds, and heavyweight Osbaldo DelReal squeaking by Andrew Stocker, 5-4.
For Inglemoor, Anthony Bratcher (140) defeated up-and-coming sophomore Brandon Davidson, 10-3; Brian Trabun (145) achieved a major decision against Dustin Rohde, 14-3; and Sam Gastineau (160) beat Zachary Alvis, 10-5.
Four Vikings won their matches with a pin: Brandon Hernan (152), Ben Grabowski (171), Josh Koukal (189) and Ben Carson (215), with Gastineau and Grabowski achieving the quickest pins at 54 and 53 seconds, respectively.
VIKING WRESTLERS WIN LIBERTY TOURNAMENT
The strong Inglemoor High wrestling team took down a number of solid programs last Saturday at the Liberty Invitational at Liberty High in Renton, running away with the team title by scoring 219 points.
Seven Viking wrestlers made it to the finals of their divisions, with five of them emerging as champions.
Championship highlights for the Vikings included sophomore Austin Levy (119) outlasting Joey Gurke of Skyline, 10-7; Bratcher (135) routing Redmond’s Brandon Long in a major decision, 17-6; Trabun (145) pinning Eastlake senior Cole Neves in 1:18; Grabowski (171) winning, 14-1, over Redmond’s Simeon Simov; and Carson (215) achieving the quickest championship-round pin of the meet, in 1:15, over Brad Leinweber of Eastlake.
Gabe Seward (130) and Ian Bedo (140) also made it to the title bout and placed second.
With his win, Bratcher, Inglemoor’s only state returner, improved his record to 18-1 this season.
