Prep Roundup: Cougars win wild affair against Roughriders

The Bothell baseball squad scored two unearned runs in the bottom of the seventh inning in a walk-off 7-6 win against Roosevelt on Tuesday at home in its 4A Kingco league opener.
Bothell exploded for four runs in the fifth inning to take a 5-2 lead heading into the seventh, only to see it evaporate as Roosevelt plated four of their own to lead 6-5.
In the seventh, Bothell kept the pressure on and took advantage of an ill-timed mistake by the Roughriders to escape with the win.
For the Cougars, Brian McAfee (2-for-3, 2 RBIs), Mitchell Viydo (3-for-4) and Kevin McShane (2-for-4) paced the offense, with Brad Monson adding two RBIs.
The Cougars improved to 1-0 in 4A Kingco league play and 3-1 overall.
Viking baseball falls to Falcons
In its 4A Kingco season opener, the Inglemoor High baseball team faced tough Woodinville ace Spencer Greer on Tuesday night, and the flamethrower held the Vikings in check, allowing just one hit and one run while striking out eight in a 5-1 Falcon victory.
For Inglemoor, junior Blake Wilson drove in the lone Viking score as the team evened its record at 2-2 overall.
Cougs, Viks fall on the tennis court
Tuesday was a rough go for the Bothell and Inglemoor girls' tennis teams as the Cougars fell to Eastlake, 5-2, and the Viks to Woodinville, 6-1, in 4A Kingco action.
Highlights from the Cougars' match included Morgan Milner and Colleen Byrne of Bothell defeating Sara Marien and Lilia Rodriguez 6-2, 7-5 and Sadie Rath and Gracen Rubo winning a third-set tiebreaker against Shannon Keogh and Nicole McKeran 6-4, 6-7, 10-4.
The lone winner for Inglemoor was No. 1 singles sensation Jasmine Singh taking care of Cora Byers 6-3, 6-1.
Stadium drops Northshore in boys' lacrosse
The Northshore boys' lacrosse team came up just short in a 7-5 loss to Stadium on Tuesday afternoon at Mason Middle School in Tacoma.
The score was tied 4-4 midway through the third quarter before the Tigers scored and took the lead for good.
For Northshore, the offense was spread as Zach Dolph, Dylan Jordan, Alex Bus, Brad Joyner and Drew Tosaya each scored once.
Bothell soccer shuts out Woodinville
Playing it its final preseason game of the the spring, the Cougars' soccer squad scored one mighty big goal from Adam Long off Alex Gosselin at the 58-minute mark to push them past the Falcons 1-0.
Chris O'Neal earned the shutout for Bothell, which evened its record at 1-1-1.
