Prep Roundup: Bothell's McAfee one-hits Inglemoor in extra-innings win

Bothell senior Brian McAfee made a 4A Kingco Crown Division statement on Monday against rival Inglemoor, on the Vikings’ home turf, in a 3-0 Cougar baseball win. The righthander kept the Vikings off-balance all night, going the distance in an eight-inning pitchers’ duel with Viking starter Dustin Doucette and striking out 14.
Inglemoor senior Peter Meuisi notched his team’s only hit against McAfee, a hard-hit double in the right-center field gap.
Doucette lasted five innings and struck out eight while giving up just two hits.
Bothell’s Dain Gilbert paced the offense, going 2-for-3 and delivering a clutch RBI in the eighth inning. With the win, Bothell improved to 3-0 in league play (5-2 overall) while Inglemoor dropped to 1-2 in the conference and 4-3 overall.
CEDAR PARK OFFENSE BLASTS BUSH
The Eagles tore the cover off the ball in a 25-0 rout of Bush in 1A Emerald City League baseball action on Monday night at Marymoor Park. Leading the way were Ben Circeo, Brian Long and Andy Littlefield, who each went 4-for-4, with Circeo and Littlefield each a home run away from the cycle.
With the win, the Eagles improved to 2-3 on the season.
VIKING FASTPITCH WINS
The Inglemoor girls scored seven runs in the first inning en route to a 13-4 rout over Garfield on Monday night at home in their 4A Kingco opener.
Shelby Johnston and Kylie Acacio each doubled twice, with Taylor Peacocke and Holly Sandborg adding three hits each in the win.
The victory improved the Vikings to 2-4 overall on the season.
