April 8, 2011 · Updated 12:03 PM
The Bothell High baseball team continued its torrid pace as the Cougars shut out Eastlake 10-0 in five innings on Thursday night at Eastlake High.
Starter Brian McAfee was masterful again on the mound, going the distance while scattering five hits and striking out nine while walking just one to earn his second win and lower his ERA to 0.95.
At the plate, McAfee blasted a three-run home run as part of a nine-run barrage in the fourth and fifth innings, with Jon Mercer contributing with a 3-for-4 night and three RBIs.
Ryan Morgan went 2-for-3 with a triple, and Rex Carlin also notched two hits.
With the win, the Cougars improved to 6-0 in league play (8-2 overall). They will take on the other undefeated team in Kingco, Redmond (6-0, 9-2), in a marquee matchup at Hartman Park on Monday at 6 p.m.
