Inglemoor swimmers edge Garfield | Prep swimming roundup

In a 4A Kingco swim meet Tuesday night, the Inglemoor boys' swim team narrowly defeated Garfield 95-89 in team totals.

Highlights for the Vikings included the team of Mateusz Merchel, Surdyk Clark, Gene Hoffman and Matthew Yusen winning the 200 medley relay in 1 minute, 46.92 seconds, and Yusen, Hoffman, Seth Birell and Josaiah Clark taking the 400 free in 3:37.53.

Individually, Casel Collela won two events, the 200 free (1:53.99) and theta 100 fly (1:00.14), as did Yusen, a sprinter, in the 50 free (23.68) and 100 freee (52.55).

Merchel shined in the backstroke, breaking the one-minute barrier in that event in (59.85) to win.
