July 30, 2012 · 12:49 PM
Nancy Scranton picked up her fourth win on The Legends Tour, official senior tour of the LPGA, with a one-shot victory at the inaugural LPGA Legends Swing for the Cure tournament at Inglewood Golf Club on Sunday.
Scranton led by as many as three shots in the 18-hole event, making birdie on three of her first four holes before finishing the tournament at 2-under 71. The event was presented by MulvannyG2.
Scranton topped a field of 30 LPGA Legends — among them five LPGA and World Golf Hall of Famers, including fan favorite Nancy Lopez and Pacific Northwest native JoAnne Carner, who played in the final pairing. Fans at the event at Inglewood Golf Club welcomed the return of women's professional golf to the region for the first time since 1999. Tournament sponsors announced a likely return of the LPGA Legends next year.
All ticket proceeds benefited Susan G. Komen for the Cure Puget Sound. For more information and complete results, visit www.thelegendstour.com.
