Bothell fades against Newport after strong start | Prep volleyball

The Bothell High School volleyball team put up a good fight against one of the best teams in the conference Wednesday, but ultimately lost 3-0 to Newport in Bothell.
The first game needed extra time to be decided, as Bothell pushed Newport to the limit in a 27-25 loss. The second game was just as close but the Knights prevailed 25-23. Bothell lost some steam during the final game, eventually losing big 25-15
Bothell was led by Katie Arneson with nine kills and Meagan Rourke with eight. Molly Rigdon finished with 17 assists and 10 digs, while Theresa Laufasa led the defense with 19 digs.
With the loss, the Cougars fell to 4-5 in league play and 6-7 overall.
