The Bothell High School girls basketball team defeated the Mustangs in Redmond Monday, 52-43, on a strong fourth quarter performance to start the 4A KingCo season.

The Cougars and Mustangs played to a stalemate during the first quarter but Bothell's consistency paid off during the second quarter, giving them three-point lead heading into half time. Redmond cut into that small lead during the third quarter but Bothell raced out ahead during the fourth quarter and ran away with the game.

The Cougars had two players in double figures for scoring as Randi Dixon scored 14 and Melinda Akoto put up 12. Teammate Chloe Lium scored nine.
