December 11, 2012 · 8:35 AM
The Inglemoor boys basketball team has yet to win a contest, four games into the season. The Vikings lost Monday night to Newport, 57-46, at home as the team struggled during the second quarter.
Inglemoor led after the first quarter but an explosion of offense by the Knights gave the Bellevue team a six-point lead heading into the half. The VIkings never recovered.
Newport expanded that lead by three during the third and kept the pressure on during the final frame to secure the victory.
Inglemoor allowed three Knights to reach double figures, while the Vikings had just two, Trey Miller (12) and Chris Bryant (10).
Inglemoor will have a tall order Friday, welcoming the No. 1 team in the state and arch rival Bothell for a 4A KingCo matchup.
