Cedar Park Christian beats Seattle Christian in overtime | Prep boys basketball

The Cedar Park Christian boys basketball team continues to roll, earning a tough 57-54 over-time victory against Seattle Christian Friday night on the west side of Lake Washington.

The teams played even most of the game with the biggest leads staying under 10 points. Both teams started slow, combining for 12 first-quarter points. But Cedar Park found a groove during the second quarter, posting its biggest quarterly point total of the game with 16.

But the home team was not going to let the Eagles expand that seven point half-time advantage. Seattle Christian outscored Bothell by five during the fourth quarter to force the game into overtime.

Cedar Park outlasted the home team for the victory during the extra frame of play to remain undefeated on the young season.

Cedar Park was led by Evan Scholten (16 points), Isaiah Penchion (12) and David McLaurin (10).

The Eagles are 2-0 in league play and 3-0 overall, tied for Charles Wright for first place in the Nisqually 1A division.
