Bothell escapes with tight win against Ballard as LaVine puts up 30 points | Prep boys basketball

January 9, 2013 · 10:47 AM

The Bothell High School boys basketball team has been challenged by very few teams this season. Ranked No. 1 in the state, the team is undefeated on the year.

Ballard gave the Cougars a run for their money, but Bothell was able to squeeze out the victory, 63-58, thanks to a big third quarter and 30 points from Zach LaVine.

The game was tight throughout the first half with Bothell taking the slimmest of leads into halftime, 28-27.

But a big run by the Cougars during the second quarter of 20-13 put distance between the two squads. The Beavers made a push during the fourth quarter but it wasn't enough as the Cougars won their 12th game of the season.

Bothell was led by LaVine and Josh Martin, who had 12 points.
