Slow first half costs Cougars in Sammamish | Prep girls basketball

A slow first half cost the Bothell High School girls basketball team Friday in Sammamish.

The team scored in single digits during each of the first two quarters, losing 67-36 to Eastlake.

The Cougars trailed 31-12 at halftime and never fully recovered. The team’s offense came around during the second half, doubling its point total from the first two quarters.

The team was led by Erin Burns, who scored half of the Cougars’ points with 18.
