January 30, 2013 · 10:19 AM

The Bothell High School boys basketball team beat Newport Tuesday night, 68-56, in Bellevue despite missing players due to the flu.

The Knights would not go down without a fight, playing the Cougars even during the first quarter 15-15 and outscoring Bothell by three during the third quarter.

But that just got the Cougars warmed up, scoring 22 points during the second quarter and outscoring the home team by nine points during the fourth quarter.

The Cougars were led by Perrion Callandret with 26 points and Zach LaVine had 17 points. Josh Martin, the team's third leading scorer, missed the contest with the flu but teammate Kellen Webster made up for the loss, scoring 12 points.

The game was the final regular season contest for Bothell, finishing the season with an in-league record of 13-1 and 18-2 overall.
