Northshore wrestlers show well at districts, Davidson wins 152-pound weight class

Wrestlers from Bothell and Inglemoor high school had good performances during the 4A Region III meet held at Friday and Saturday with five wrestlers qualifying for the state meet this weekend.
Bothell's Brandon Davidson took first during the 152 pound tournament, winning the championship match by injury default. Davidson began the tournament with a last-second first-round pin against a Redmond wrestler. Davidson won his second round match 5-1.
Inglemoor wrestlers Gabe Seward (145 pounds) and Josh Koukal (195 pounds) both finished second during their respective tournament brackets. Seward won his first-round match 15-3 and breezed through the second round with a 15-4 victory. Seward lost during the finals 3-1.
Koukal earned a quick pin during his first-round match in just 1:20. His second-round match was even shorter, earning the pin in 52 seconds. But Koukal would lose 4-3 during the finals.
Jared Koukal finished third in the 170-pound weight class with a first-round 50-second pin and a heartbreaking 7-6 loss during the second round. Koukal beat his first consolation-bracket opponent during the 2:58 mark with a pin and then won the consolation bracket with a 26-second pin fall.
Bothell's Virgil Smith placed fourth at 138 pounds.
Inglemoor's Mitchell Barker (120) and Michael Milcareck (285), along with Bothell's Kyle Hanson (132) and Tommy Forker (220) took fifth place in their respective brackets.
Sixth place winners included Rene Arriola (145) of Bothell.
