March 22, 2013 · 9:51 AM

The Cedar Park Christian baseball team beat Seattle Christian on Thursday thanks to a strong starting-pitching performance and a lot of offense. The Eagles won the game 14-3.

Cedar Park started the game by scoring four runs during the bottom of the first inning before the team from Seattle cut the lead to 5-2 after three innings.

The Eagles put two more runs on the board during the fourth, another during the fifth and then exploded for six runs during the sixth inning to cut the game short thanks to the mercy rule.

Cedar Park starting pitcher Josh Thompson went five innings, giving up just one earned run while striking out eight batters.

Both Adrian Vela and Phoenix Mourier went 3-for-4 during the game with Vela picking up four RBI and Maurier collecting two RBI.
