Barringer helps Bothell boys to fifth-place win at Tomahawk Invitational
The Bothell High School Cross Country team took fifth Saturday during the Tomahawk Twilight Cross Country Invitational in Marysville led by Charlie Barringer.
Barringer outran more than 240 other 3A/4A varsity racers to win the seventh-annual meet.
Barringer finished in a time of 15 minutes, 40 seconds. His time is one second off the all-time Bothell High School record and is currently fifth best for 4A state runners this season.
Cougar teammate Jacob Strauss wasn't far behind, as he posted a personal-record time of 16:04, good for 10th overall at the Twilight meet.
Teammates Kyle Eisenbeis, Nick Anderssohn and Cameron Howard helped to push the team to the fifth place finish out of the 36 schools competing.
Senior Stephanie Spencer set the Bothell girls varsity pace, finishing 10th out of a field of 200 with a time of 19:06, sixth best all time for the Cougar girls team. Junior Kelby Pierce finished 12th in her junior varsity race.
