Inglemoor can’t end off fourth-quarter surge by Newport | Prep girls basketball

The Inglemoor High School girls basketball held the lead against Newport through the third quarter Wednesday night but could not end off a fourth-quarter surge by Newport, losing 47-44 in Bellevue.

Newport began the game with the hot hand, jumping out to a five-point lead. The Vikings tied the game just minutes into the third quarter and then built a lead of their own, finishing the quarter up 35-32. But a 15-9 fourth-quarter advantage by the Knights completed a short comeback.

Inglemoor was led by Kennedy Nicholas with 13 points, while teammates Mackenzie Gardner and Alex Hagen finished with nine points each.
