Inglemoor second, Bothell fifth during 4A KingCo tournament, three local athletes win titles | Prep wrestling
The Inglemoor and Bothell High School wrestling teams each performed well during the league championship meet on Saturday at Bothell High School, producing three individual champions. Inglemoor took second in KingCo as a team with 164 team points, while Bothell finished fifth overall with 146 points.
Cougar Virgil Smith took home the 145-pound KingCo title with a 15-6 major decision against Dalton Mann of Woodinville. Aaron Ibanez of Bothell also took home a championship with an 8-5 decision against Jonnie Estrada of Eastlake during the championship match. Inglemoor wrestler Dean Patrick also took a tournament title at 170 pounds.
Andrew Hanson of Bothell finished second in KingCo at 132 pounds, narrowly losing to Tristan Steciw of Skyline 6-5 during the final.
Ingelmoor athlete Andy Pham also finished second at the 138-pound weight class. Pham lost during the final to Issaquah's Louden Ivey, 9-4. Bothell's Rene Arriola also took second during the 152-pound tournament. Arriola lost during the final 14-2 to Everett Bingisser of Woodinville.
Eddie Sjoquist of Inglemoor finished second in the 182-pound tournament. Sjoquist was pinned during the final by Ryan Christensen of Woodinville.
During the heavy weight division final, Mike Milcarek of Inglemoor picked up second place overall.
The district meet will be held at Inglemoor High School Saturday at 9 a.m.
