Inglemoor to play for fourth in state tomorrow morning | Prep girls basketball
The Inglemoor High School girls basketball team fought hard on Thursday but came up short during the Elite Eight. They were determined to not repeat their mistakes on Friday.
The Vikings crushed Arlington during the first quarter, 17-1, en route to a 46-26 victory during the first round of the consolation bracket of the state basketball tournament at the Tacoma Dome. The win clinches at least sixth place at state and the team will play for fourth place on Saturday at 8 a.m. against Skyview.
The first-quarter smothering of Arlington on Friday did not last long as their competition doubled up the Vikings 14-7 during the second quarter.
But Inglemoor withstood the charge and outscored their opponents 22-8 during the second half.
The Vikings were led by Deja Strother with 13 points and 12 blocked shots. Alex Hagen had nine points for Inglemoor, while teammate Brooklyn Walker finished with eight points and Jordana Price had seven points.
