Cedar Park Christian baseball opens season by defeating Overlake, Seattle Lutheran

Cedar Park Christian's baseball team began its season with a 12-9 victory over Overlake last Thursday. Though the beginning looked shaky, the Eagles used their perseverance to dominate in the last few innings. Juniors Ben Circeo and Brian Long both contributed three runs batted in and two doubles, while Circeo added a home run. Against Seattle Lutheran last Saturday, Cedar Park celebrated a 12-5 victory to make their record 2-0. Senior Lucas Burns had two hits, two runs batted in and two doubles, while junior teammate Andy Littlefield added one run and two hits. Softball The Eagles' softball team struggled to get a run on the scoreboard and left with a 4-0 defeat to Archbishop Murphy last week. Learning from their first loss, the girls struck hard against South Whidbey last Thursday, defeating their opponent, 10-1. Sophomore McCayla Hoffman had one double and one triple, while teammate and senior Shanae Stafford added a triple and two runs batted in. Golf Competing against Overlake last Monday, Cedar Park came up short with 199 strokes to Overlake’s 162. Junior Grant Zapara finished in third place with 38 strokes.
