In recent games, Cedar Park Christian baseball (13-6 overall) took down University Prep, 9-3 and 8-4.
Junior and captain Ben Circeo had a triple, while fellow junior Andy Littlefield had two doubles in the first meeting.
Coming back from an injury, Matt Heindel had two hits and one RBI, while Littlefield had one hit and two RBIs in the latter game.
The Eagles will next take on Onalaska Saturday in a must-win game. If they win, they advance to play for a final-four district spot in Yakima that day.
Circeo talks about the team’s plan for this week: “We’re going to focus and come to the yard every day to get our work done in the time we have. And hopefully on Saturday, we can get some timely hitting in and play some great defense and in the end pull out a win.”
Softball
Cedar Park (12-8 overall) took a 4-3 victory against Orcas Island recently. While at bat three times, Emily Potts had three hits and one RBI, while McCayla Hoffman pitched seven innings with 10 strikeouts.
Next, Cedar Park smashed Bellevue Christian, 13-1. Senior Shanae Stafford scored four runs and had two hits, while Hoffman pitched seven innings with 14 strikeouts.
As the Eagles prepare to compete in tri-districts this weekend, senior Kaylie Chinn reveals: “We set a team goal of placing in state this year, and I believe we have fighting chance of accomplishing that goal. We’re a close family of players and pick each other up and don’t let ourselves hang our heads.”
