For the first time in AMHS youth basketball feeder program history the Wildcat 5th grade boys basketball team won the state championship edging out Cedarcrest Select, 27-24, last weekend.

The team includes Bothell resident Max Mekanik and has players from Mill Creek, Snohomish and Everett.

Coach Arrae Walton lead the team of Ryan McFerran, Stephen Post, Colby Cooke, Austin Sloan, Caleb Hambly, Tanner Johnson, Dawson Schnarre, Jonah Clymer, Mekanik and Jack Taylor to a Peak league championship, multiple tournament championships and capped the Wildcats season with the Washington State 5th Grade Silver Championship.
