The Bothell High volleyball team needed extra points in the third set, but polished off Kings for a solid nonconference victory on Thursday evening at Bothell High School.

The Cougars won 25-20, 25-18, 28-26 thanks to a big night from middle blocker Maddie Butters, who finished with 10 kills on 18 attempts.

Bothell (6-1) won for the second consecutive match, and picked up its fourth straight-set victory of the year.

Senior Alexa Torres finished with nine kills. Sydney Cowan had six kills and Sierra Myers and Camille Gilmore both had four kills.

Next, Bothell is scheduled for a conference match on Monday, Oct. 3 at Skyline High School in Sammamish.
