Bothell tennis rolls to 6-1 victory over Mt. Si | Prep boys’ tennis

The Bothell High boys’ tennis team is off to a dominant start to the season after defeating Mt. Si, 6-1, on Thursday, Sept. 8, at Mt. Si High School in Snoqualmie.

Bothell’s top two singles players, Andrew Schueller and Joe Yamauci, both won their matches 6-0, 6-0. Dylan Kato defeated Jacob Bradburn 6-1, 6-2, and Aditaya Iyer defeated Kaiden Popp 6-1, 6-0.

Bothell won two of three doubles matches as well. Ted Liu and Abi Chandra needed extra points to knock off Mt. Si’s top doubles team, but rolled in the second set and won 7-5, 6-0.

David Lew and Evan Poremba won 6-3, 6-3.

Justin Jones and Vrish Kumar defeated Bothell’s Cole Griffin and Ethan Han for Mt. Si’s only win of the afternoon.

Next, Bothell is scheduled for nonconference matches against Liberty at 3:30 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 12 at Bothell High School.
