Bothell’s Kress swings to success — state is next

Bothell’s Claire Kress won the 4A KingCo medalist tournament with a career-best score of 77 on May 8 at Snohomish Golf Course. She finished second overall at the two-day state-qualifying event to advance to the premier tourney on May 22-23 in Pasco. Additionally, the girls team received the KingCo sportsmanship award for the second year in a row. The team is made up of seniors Delaney Atkinson and Madi Carro, juniors Kress and Katie Rutter, and freshmen Christina Parmelee, Ellie Miller, Natty Haskell, Lilli Kihlstrom, Madi Dean and Destiny Parker.
