Kenmore resident and Western Washington University senior guard Taylor Peacocke has accepted an invitation to participate in the 20th Annual Women’s Pro Combine and Free Agent Camp, hosted on Sunday at the University of Texas at Dallas during NCAA Final Four weekend.

Along with top college seniors, the Women’s Pro Combine also features professional players from overseas and unsigned WNBA free agents in the talent pool. The combine utilizes scrimmages, position-specific work and drills for WNBA coaches and general managers, along with international teams and agents, to evaluate players. Combine coaches and clinicians include former WNBA players who have taken part in previous combines as attendees.

There have been 53 players signed or drafted by WNBA teams directly from participation in the Women’s Pro Combine and Free Agent Camp. Several other attendees have secured overseas contracts after participation at the combine. The combine itself takes place from 8 am until 2:30 p.m. (CDT) on Sunday while the weekend also features a players-only dinner on Saturday with a lineup of guest speakers to share combine tips as well as provide advice for life after college basketball careers.

Peacocke, who attended and played for Inglemoor High School, also added another All-American honor this week, as she has been named a Women’s Division II Bulletin First Team All-American. She becomes the seventh player in program history to receive All-America recognition from the Division II Bulletin and first in WWU history to earn First Team honors. Peacocke was one of five players named a 2017 Division II Bulletin First Team All-American.

Previously, Peacocke was honored as a First Team Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) First Team All-American and a Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) Second Team All-American. In addition to the national recognition, Peacocke was a D2CCA First Team All-West Region honoree, the Great Northwest Athletic Conference Player of the Year, a three-time GNAC Player of the Week and a member of the NCAA II West Regional All-Tournament Team during her record-setting senior season.

Peacocke concludes her WWU career with 1,940 points, ranking second in WWU history behind Jo Metzger (1,990 points, 1977-81) and second in GNAC history behind Erin Chambers (Simon Fraser, 1,946 points, 2011-2015). She also ranks second in school history with a career 16.3 points per game average, behind only Metzger (18.3 ppg). Peacocke ends her collegiate career as the GNAC record holder for points scored in league games during a career with 1,244 points.

A two-time First Team All-GNAC selection and three-time GNAC All-Academic honoree, Peacocke scored 745 points during her senior season to become the first player in conference history to surpass 700 points in a season and set the WWU single-season scoring average record (23.3 ppg). Her scoring average led all of NCAA Division II during 2016-17, and ranks second in GNAC history to Chambers (23.5 ppg, 2014-15). Peacocke also set the WWU single-season record for free throws made and finished second in attempts during a season (159-for-187, 85.0%).

During her senior year, Peacocke scored 20 or more points in 23 of 32 games with four games of 30 or more points (five career 30-point games). Her career-high scoring output of 41 points was set during an 84-72 WWU win at Simon Fraser on Jan. 17 as she came within a single point of tying the WWU single-game record and tied for third-most points in a game in GNAC history.

WWU went 26-6 during the 2016-17 season, advancing to the GNAC Championships final and the NCAA West Regional semifinal round.
