Inglemoor boys beat Skyline, set up rematch with Bothell for state berth

It’ll be Inglemoor-Bothell boys, part IV, but this time the loser goes home.

The Inglemoor High boys basketball team survived a late rally to beat Skyline, 56-54, in a loser-out game of the conference tournament on Saturday in Kirkland.

The win qualified the Vikings (12-11) for the regional round of the state playoffs, and the opponent? Bothell.

Inglemoor senior Jaxon Peay scored 20 points and grabbed 13 rebounds and Ryan Hamilton added 15 on Saturday evening at Lake Washington High School. Inglemoor built up a 26-19 halftime lead and held a seven-point advantage after three quarters.

According to WIAA guidelines, the game is likely to be played on Saturday, Feb. 25 at Bellevue College, though a date, time and location haven’t been officially set. Inglemoor won both regular-season games, but Bothell won a low-scoring game in the conference tournament on Feb. 11.

Bothell (17-5) won the regular-season title and the conference tournament championship.

The winner of the regional game moves on to the first round of the state tournament, to play either Enumclaw or Union at 2 p.m. on March 1 at the Tacoma Dome.
