Inglemoor girls take third in team standings at state tennis tournament

Inglemoor High’s Brooke Demerath placed fourth in singles at the 4A state girls tennis tournament on May 24-25 in Richland.

She won three matches and lost one at the tourney and defeated Brooke Fager of Lewis and Clark, 7-5, 3-6, 6-4 to take fourth.In the high-intensity match, according to coach Jane Demerath, Brooke was down 2-4 in the third set and rallied to win four games in a row to win the match.

At doubles, Inglemoor’s Milan Mar and Alyssa Chin placed seventh. The went 2-2 at the tourney.

Jane said the duo showed heart in its matches and fought for every point.

Inglemoor placed third in the team standings.
