Northshore showdowns: Inglemoor softball, Bothell baseball notch victories

Taylor Waara delivered a pair of hits and earned the win with 12 strikeouts in Inglemoor’s 9-0 victory over Bothell in a 4A KingCo softball game on April 30.

Also for the Viks, Sophia Fike homered and singled, and Camryn Scott and O’Nalisa Hall had two hits each.

For Bothell, Amber Powers and Brooke Davis had two hits apiece.

On the baseball diamond, Bothell scored in the bottom of the eighth inning to defeat Inglemoor, 2-1.

Brody Ponti had two hits and an RBI and Trent Carlin had an RBI for Bothell, who also received two hits each from Bryce Long and Caden Baker.

Inglemoor got one hit each from Mitch Malsam, Eunsang Yu, Nathan Schuh, Teddy Bishop and Trevor Thurman.

Bothell and Inglemoor will face off again in the 4A KingCo tournament at 7 p.m. May 4 at Bannerwood Park in Bellevue. The loser is out and the winner will face Newport at 4 p.m. May 5 at Bannerwood.

In other softball action, Newport tallied the winning run in the bottom of the seventh in a 3-2 victory over North Creek.

Sierra Hein doubled for North Creek and Ashley Saenz tripled for the Jaguars.
