The Northshore Holiday Showcase, a special event planned to celebrate the talent of Northshore students, is scheduled for Nov. 6-7 at Molbak’s (13625 N.E. 175th St., Woodinville). This event is designed to help kick off Molbak’s Annual Festival of Poinsettias and will be featuring the skills and talents of students throughout the district. Molbak’s will donate a percentage of the weekend’s sales to the Northshore Schools Foundation.

“This event creates a great opportunity for the staff, parents and alumni of the Northshore School District to get a jump start on their holiday shopping and raise much needed funds for our schools,” says Carmin Dalziel, executive director of the Northshore Schools Foundation. “Our mission is to support programs and partnerships that enhance educational opportunities for all Northshore students, specifically to promote academic rigor district wide, support teacher innovation and training and help all students succeed. With the funds raised that weekend, we will be able to begin to tackle some of the pressing needs the district currently faces.”

Each day from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Northshore students will supervise a children’s craft area along with a cookie-decorating station. The area will feature a village of gingerbread houses and a table decorating display featuring holiday themes and colors. There will also be live holiday music and gift-wrapping by local DECA students.

District instructor Geoffrey Gilmore comments, “I am extremely proud of the students in our event-planning class who have worked diligently coordinating this event and have generated a wide assortment of support from students and programs throughout the district, for example, DECA, the Teaching Academy and the Culinary Arts Program, are all excited to be involved and showcasing their talents.”
