Newport downs Inglemoor, 28-17, to end Viks’ season / 4A Kingco Playoffs

Inglemoor closed out its football season last Friday with a 28-17 loss to Newport in the 4A Kingco playoffs.

The Viks’ Peter Meiusi scored on a 44-yard pass from Mitchell Gonsolus to post a 7-0 lead. Newport tied the game and then kicker Rick Gombatz converted a 27-yard field goal to give the Viks a 10-7 lead.

Newport led 14-7 at the half and built a 28-10 lead before Inglemoor’s Todd Raynes hauled in a 4-yard pass from Gonsolus.

Inglemoor finished up 5-4 overall and 4-1 in league.
