Bothell volleyball nets huge win, playing for state berth tomorrow

The red-hot Bothell Cougars, winners of five straight, opened up the 4A Kingco tournament with a big 3-1 win over Skyline on Saturday afternoon to advance to a winner-to-state game against No. 1 seeded Newport (9-1, 13-1).
The Cougars defeated the Spartans via game scores of 25-18, 26-24, 24-26 and 25-13.
For the Cougars, Peircen Lundquist slammed 21 kills, followed by Katie Arneson with 11 and Emma Salud with 10.
Solid senior setter Allie Hadley had 38 assists and libero Hope Frazier recorded 22 digs on the evening.
Hadley, Arneson and Amanda Ernster each led with four service aces.
With the win, Bothell improved to 6-4 (9-5 overall).
