Bothell defense falters against Issaquah | Prep basketball roundup

Playing against the high-octane Issaquah Eagles on Tuesday night on the road, the Cougar boys’ basketball team dropped a 4A Kingco league game, 79-68.

The Cougars allowed the Eagles no fewer than 16 points scored in any quarter, including 47 in the second half, as they could not catch their opponents down the stretch.

Cougar guard Zach LaVine, the league’s leading scorer, was held by the Eagles to just 14 points.

The team was led by Perrion Callandret, who poured in a game-high 24.

The loss dropped Bothell below .500 at 3-4 in league play and 6-5 overall.

Viking boys still searching for first league win

Much like last year’s Bothell High team, the Inglemoor boys can’t seem to catch a break as one bad quarter cost the Vikings in a 69-53 loss to Eastlake on the road Tuesday night.

The game was tight at the half, 31-29 in the Vikings’ favor, but the Wolves exploded for 26 points in the third quarter, and held Inglemoor to just eight, to put the game out of reach.

For Inglemoor, Sam Omondi and Trey Miller led with 14 points each, flowed by Chris Bryant and Brendan Lauck with seven each.

The boys are now 0-7 in league and 4-8 overall.
