The Cougar boys’ basketball team pulled out another one-point win on Tuesday night on the road against Roosevelt, a 63-62 overtime thriller.
It was the team’s fourth victory by a single point it its last five games, and the red-hot Cougars have now won six of their last seven.
Bothell led 44-38 at the end of three quarters, before Roosevelt came back with an 18-point fourth quarter to tie the score at 56-56 at the end of regulation.
For Bothell, Perrion Callandret led with a game-high 21, followed by Zach LaVine with 19 and Kellen Webster with 17.
The win brought Bothell over the .500 mark at 5-4 in 4A Kingco play and 9-5 overall.
Inglemoor boys secure first league win
The hard-luck Viking boys finally achieved their first 4A Kingco win on Tuesday night, beating Ballard 67-56.
Inglemoor broke the game open in the second quarter, taking a seven-point lead into halftime hat they would never relinquish.
For the Vikings, Chris Bryant led with 19 points, followed by Cooper Danby and Brendan Lauck with 11 each.
Prior to Tuesday’s win, the Vikings had scored 78 and 76 points in a game earlier in the season in losses to Issaquah and Bothell.
The victory, the team’s first in Kingco against eight league losses, improved the Vikings to a 5-9 overall record.
Cedar Park downs Overlake
Playing in a 1A Emerald City League game on Monday night against Overlake, the Eagles shot lights-out in a 72-57 victory.
The Eagles scored no less than 16 points in each quarter, taking the lead early and playing add-on the rest of the way.
Cedar Park senior Evan Scholten led with a game-high 23, followed by Trey Dreschel’s 16.
With the win, the Eagles improved to 5-2 in league play and 8-6 overall.
