Thanks to solid pitching from Travis Dohr and Camden McLeod and some big bats in the fifth inning, Bothell defeated Skyline, 5-4, on Saturday in the opening-round of the 4A Kingco Tournament. The Cougars (12-9) will take on Issaquah at 7 p.m. today at Woodinville High.
Skyline scored four runs in the first inning, and held on to the shutout until Bothell cranked out five runs in the fifth behind hits and RBIs from Rex Carlin, Saige Tyndall and Samuel Lee.
Bothell coach Paul Moody said that Dohr tossed a one-hitter through five innings, and McLeod entered the game in relief and got out of a bases-loaded jam. He closed the game with a seventh-inning save.
Inglemoor, the 4A Kingco Crown Division champs (14-7), lost to Newport, 8-1, on Saturday.
The Vikings will play at 4 p.m. today against Woodinville at Inglemoor High.
