Former King County Executive and Deputy Secretary of the United States Department of Housing and Development Ron Sims and King County Councilman Larry Gossett recently endorsed Sarajane Siegfriedt, a Democrat running for the open seat in the 46th Legislative District.
“I’m supporting Sarajane because she’s been a champion for housing and human services for many years and she’s got a courageous plan for real revenue reform,” said Sims.
Siegfriedt said that Sims and Gossett are two of the “most respected public servants our community have ever known, and I’m honored to have their support.”
Siegfriedt has been an advocate for public housing, including serving on the board of Solid Ground, a local organization dedicated to fighting racism, poverty and providing low-income housing. Siegfriedt has also worked as an advocate for people with disabilities and people working to get out of poverty.
Siegfriedt was also recently endorsed by the Amalgamated Transit Union Local 587.
“ATU Local 587 represents working people across our region, dedicated to keeping people moving. I look forward to increasing transit access and funding in Olympia come January,” Siegfriedt said.
She is the official nominee of the Democratic Party, as well as the sole endorsed candidate by the 46th District and King County Democrats.
