Northshore School District to host PACE information night

The Northshore School District will host an informational open house events for parents interested in learning more about the Parents Active in Cooperative Education (PACE) program. The meetings will take place at 7 p.m. on Oct. 16 at three seperate schools:

Lockwood Elementary will be the site for students attending Arrowhead, Crystal Springs, Frank Love, Kenmore, Lockwood, Shelton View and Westhill Elementary Schools.

Wellington Elementary will be the site for students attending Bear Creek, Cottage Lake, East Ridge, Hollywood Hills, Kokanee, Sunrise, Wellington and Woodin Elementary Schools.

Woodmoor Elementary will be the site for students attending Canyon Creek, Fernwood, Maywood, Moorlands and Woodmoor Elementary Schools.

A choice program offered through the Northshore School District, PACE is a partnership of teachers, parents and students dedicated to an enriched learning environment. PACE officials describe the program as committed to enrich and deepen learning by emphasizing active participation of parents, innovative teaching techniques, enhanced curriculum and additional activities.

Enrollment in PACE is open to all children in grades 1-6 in the Northshore School District on a space-available basis. Placement is by blind lottery.

At each open house, students, parents and staff in the PACE program will provide a brief overview of the program’s philosophy and goals, and be available to answer questions about their own experiences in PACE.
