Bothell resident Agnes Johnson Koch will reach a milestone on July 26 when she turns 100 years old.

Koch was born on a farm outside Houston, Minn. She didn’t speak much English until she started first grade as her parents had immigrated here from Sweden.

Koch said she feels that she has had a rich, full life.

“She started out a shy person and blossomed into a people loving, outgoing, fun loving party goer and giver,” said her daughter Julie Koch-Michael.

Koch attributes her 100 years and excellent health in part to being 100 percent Swedish and to having two children who never gave her any problems.

“She’s baking less and walking shorter distances now but still relishes good food and visiting with friendly people,” said Koch-Michael. “Many of you who walk and bicycle in Bothell have seen Agnes out walking and perhaps exchanged a pleasant conversation with her.”
