Internationally known intellectual provocateur and best-selling author Cornel West, Ph.D. will join UW Bothell Chancellor Wolf Yeigh and the community for an hour of coffee and conversation at 9:30 a.m. on March 7 at Mobius Hall on the Bothell campus.

West is known for his views on truth and justice. In addition to authoring 19 books, West can be seen on the Bill Maher Show, Colbert Report, CNN and C-Span. He is also known as part of the “Smiley & West” radio show that is distributed on Public Radio International.

Nearly two decades after its first printing, his groundbreaking classic “Race Matters” continues to address America’s racial debate head-on. West boldly confronts social injustices and prejudices of all types while steadfastly promoting the idea of a brotherhood among all.

West is the Class of 1943 University Professor at Princeton University. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from Harvard in three years and went on to Princeton where he obtained his M.A. and Ph.D. in Philosophy. He has taught at Union Theological Seminary, Yale, Harvard and the University of Paris.
