Deputies with the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office recovered the body of a 21-year-old Kenmore man from the Snohomish River on June 29. The man went missing while swimming near Thomas Eddy at about 4 p.m.

The man’s body was recovered in about 20 feet of water, after being submerged for more than thirty minutes. He could not be revived by medics from Snohomish Fire.

“As temperatures rise, it is imperative that people remember that river and lake temperatures are still cold, and that rivers have unpredictable currents and sudden changes in depth,” said Snohomish County Sheriff Lt. Robert Palmer. “Please be careful whenever playing in or around water.”

The Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office will determine the exact cause and manner of death and release any further details on the identity of the man.

There are no further details available at this time.
