Gorc is risky for the Bothell City Council | Letter

I would like to respond to the letter written on Oct. 13 by Kim Dill of Kenmore.
It is my understanding that letters to the editor are an opinion. To say that the letter “Gorc is dangerous for Bothell,” written by Robert Tadlock, is “dishonest,” is saying that someone is lying.
It is misleading at best to say that Robert Tadlock tried to deflect a mistake made by Andy Rheaume. The fact is that it is protocol not to discuss what goes on in “executive session.” It was not Andy Rheaumes place to tell the public about the back nine of the Wayne Golf Course. The mayor should have told the public that the option for the city to buy the property was let go because there was no money. We all know what happened next.
The public did learn about the sale of the back nine from the mayor, through the press and OneBothell.org, after the mayor wrote a full discloser letter. That’s why it was kept secret, because he saw an opportunity.
I would like to also urge all voters to do their homework. Check out City Council videos and candidate affiliations. My husband and I spent many Tuesday nights at Bothell City Council meetings. We saw the dysfunctional City Council in action.
We were there in person and saw Ms. Gorc and her support for the mayor. Affirming her support for his purchase and development of the back nine of the Wayne Golf Course was very telling. She also expressed her personal connection with the mayor through their church and family. This is all on video you can watch yourself.
It is my opinion that Ms. Gorc is risky for the Bothell City Council. She would be a follower not a leader because she would vote with the establishment. To support the development the back nine of the Wayne Golf Course tells me she is in step with the mayor and his cronies, and not concerned about open space and the environment.
Debra Tadlock, Bothell
