The non-profit Kenmore Art Show is seeking volunteers for the 18th annual event, scheduled June 22-26 at Bastyr University in Kenmore.

Community-minded volunteers are needed to assist with the variety of tasks required to produce this popular event that draws entries from throughout the Pacific Northwest.

Volunteers will help erect the display flats, check in arriving art pieces, hang or display artwork, attach labels and award ribbons, greet visitors, provide security and take part in the takedown and art return.

There are two ways to volunteer. Come to a meeting of the working committee at 7 p.m., Wednesday, April 27 at the Kenmore Library. Or, go to http://www.artsofkenmore.org/get-involved/volunteer and fill out the volunteer sign-up form.

Even if unable to volunteer, residents are invited to an art preview at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 22, followed by a reception and award presentations from 6-8 p.m., featuring music from the Inglemoor High School Jazz Ensemble. The show runs through Sunday, offering music and workshops daily and food-truck options on Saturday.

The juried show is popular among regional artists. Last year, a record 617 pieces were submitted in seven categories: painting/drawing, etc.; miniatures (painting/drawing); sculpture, photography, artisan works, youth artwork (subcategories for junior and senior high school), and artwork made from repurposed materials. Admission is free, though a donation is encouraged.

Sponsored by Bastyr University, the Kenmore Art Show is produced by Arts of Kenmore, a 501c3 organization, with support from the City of Kenmore and 4Culture. To learn more about the show, visit www.artsofkenmore.org.
