Northshore Junior High student competes in the National Junior High Chess Championships

Vikram Ramasamy, an eight grader from Northshore Junior High, competed in the National Junior High Chess Championships in Indianapolis, Indiana, from April 14-17.

In the National K-9 Blitz Championship tournament he tied for second place and took third place on tie breaks.

The blitz tournament hosted 175 students. During the National K-8 Chess Championship tournament, he tied for 25th place in the K-8 Championship section with 275 players competing.

Around 1,100 players from across the nation participated in the chess championship tournament.
