Father who kidnapped son in Bothell at gunpoint in custody

A father, who kidnapped his 1-year-old son at gunpoint last week, is in custody after turning himself in on March 16.

According to the Bothell Police Department, the boy’s mother called 911 to report her son, Jahvell Scott, was taken from her at gunpoint by his father, Terrance Lee-Hammond Jr., 23. The alleged kidnapping occurred at about 7 p.m. March 15 at Heritage Park Apartments, 9800 block of N.E. 190th St., Bothell.

The police department issued an Amber Alert but canceled it after the Jahvell was found safe at Lee-Hammond’s mother’s house.

Lee-Hammond was booked into the King County Correctional Facility in Seattle at around 9:40 p.m. March 16 on domestic violence assault charges and is being held on $50,000 bail.

Lee-Hammond has a criminal history and was most recently in jail this past January for failing to appear for a DUI hearing.
