A smiling spelling-bee winner who spelled ‘grumpy’ correctly

Nina Sloan, left, won the sixth-grade Scripts Spelling Bee on Jan. 28 at Moorlands Elementary in Kenmore by correctly spelling the word “grumpy.” She will now advance to compete in the regional Washington State Spelling Bee on March 25 in Seattle.
