The Eagles dominated Forest Ridge from the very beginning and set themselves up with a 3-0 victory. Junior Candice Whipple delivered 10 kills and four aces while freshman Mattie Shelford executed nine kills.

However, Thursday’s game started out to be a challenge. Cedar Park won the first two games, while the next two went to Cascade Christian.

Cedar Park controlled the fifth and final game to notch another victory.

Senior Tiffany Stumpf had the night of her life with three blocks, 41 assists, 12 digs and six aces.

“The best feeling is when you get a perfect pass, a good set and a great kill, and we all come together in the middle and we can just see the excitement on everyone’s faces; it makes us all work hard for each other,” Stumpf said.

Boys soccer

Cedar Park rebounded from a 3-1 loss to Northwest with 3-0 win over Bellevue Christian. Addison Parker scored unassisted in the 27th minute while teammate Darrel Holmquist scored in the 54th with an assist by Ben Circeo. Three minutes later, senior Nick Kunnanz scored the last unassisted goal for Cedar Park.

Girls soccer

Last week was big for Cedar Park soccer girls, and they started out tough against University Prep. Two unassisted goals by sophomore Nicolette Clark in the 44th and 79th minutes and one unassisted goal by senior Emilie Grant in the 72nd brought a sweet 3-1 victory.

Against Seattle Academy, the sidelines were packed and anticipation grew on Senior Night. Even though unable to score in the 80 minutes of play, Cedar Park played unyieldingly against the first-place team in the league during its 2-0 loss.

Cedar Park goalie and senior Jena Blanchard provided a highlight by effortlessly blocking a pounding penalty kick.

Captain Grant says, “This year, there are girls from different grades and everyone is really close. We feed off each other. We play better because nobody looks down on anybody else. We’re all one unit and were good friends off the field.”
