Northshore Schools hiring several hundred employees as district continues to grow

As Northshore School District looks to expand its educational footprint, the district is also searching for a host of new staff members — everything from cooks and custodians to teachers and bus drivers.

The district is in the midst of several major changes, including a move to four-year high schools and a middle school model with grades six, seven and eight. The district also recently implemented a new collective bargaining agreement with the union which expanded the presence of support staff.

The biggest addition, though, is the opening of North Creek High School in September, 2017.

Northshore will need 200-300 additional staff members district-wide, and will hold a job fair from 8 a.m. to noon on Jan. 21 at the district’s administrative center in Bothell.

Laura Poolman, the district’s Manager of Employment Services, said the district’s greatest needs for the 2017-18 school year are in support roles like bus drivers, custodians and cooks.

The district is also looking to fill needs for the current school year in several non-certified positions.

Interested candidates should check Northshore’s online job board for specific positions and additional information.
