Bothell resident Mark Bacon earns scholarship from Western Washington University

Western Washington University student Mark Bacon, son of John and Martha Bacon of Bothell, received a $2,000 Ada and Don Walter Endowment Fund scholarship and a $1,000 William D. Cole scholarship (RWDC) for the 2013-2014 academic year.

The Ada and Don Walter Endowment Fund scholarship is awarded to students who have potential as a music educator, have academic and musical merit and have financial needs.

The William D. Cole scholarship is given to woodwind, brass and percussion performers in the Department of Music who have proven or show potential to be students of superlative musical quality.

Bacon will graduate from Bothell High School in June and has a cumulative GPA of 3.55. His professional goal is to work in the Healthcare field.Bacon will attend Western as an incoming freshman this fall with an interest of majoring in Kinesiology and Psychology.
